1) Wigston Academy

Lots of information that has been added to their school website on the Induction tab and we will be launching our Virtual Open Evening video very soon.

We have set up a new Facebook page just for this year group as we did last year and it is WA Class of 2021, again there will be lots of updates on there.

2) English Martyrs' Catholic School

As it is not possible to offer the usual 'Open Evening' this year, we are holding a series of Open Meetings for
parents and children in Year 6.
These meetings will take place in the school's auditorium where it is possible to host visitors with appropriate

social distancing and consist of presentations given by the Principal and others with the opportunity to learn
about the work of the school and to ask any questions about the application process. There will be an
opportunity to see the school's performing arts facilities however there will not be a general tour of the

Please note that visits are limited to a maximum of two people per household - eg this means one parent and
their child or two parents. Please note that this policy will be strictly adhered to. Face masks must be worn in
the school reception and when moving around the building.
We realise that not everyone will be able to attend these meetings for a variety of reasons. Therefore we will shortly launch a special section of the school website for Year 6 and their families. This will include information about the school and full details about how to apply.

Open Meetings will be held on the following dates:

Tuesday 29th September       10.15- 11.15am
Wednesday 30th September   1.00 - 2.00pm
Thursday 1st October            10.15- 11.15am
Tuesday 6th October             10.15- 11.15am
Wednesday 7th October        1.00-2.00pm
Thursday 8th October           10.15- 11.15am

Please arrive no more than ten minutes early for the meetings.
Parking is reserved for those with a Blue Badge. Otherwise visitors will need to park off site.

3) South Wigston High School

South Wigston High School will be holding a virtual presentation evening for all prospective Year 7 students for 2021 on Monday 28th September at 6.30pm.

4) Sir Jonathan North

Sir Jonathan North's Year 7 Open Evening… with a difference!

Due to the current situation, we’ve taken a blended approach to our Open Evening, whereby we’ll merge a virtual event on Thursday 17th September with the potential to take part in a physical event soon after. This virtual event will encompass all of the exciting elements you may have expected at any ‘typical’ Open Evening, and will still provide an opportunity to meet our dedicated staff, tour our exciting facilities and explore our broad and balanced curriculum.

Only by providing us with your contact details, can we provide you with your unique link to the online material. This link will be delivered straight to your inbox on Thursday 17th September, 5pm, and will incorporate the following:
Principal's Welcome Video, telling you what it means to be part of the Sir Jonathan North community, and about our culture and ethos.
Curriculum Overview, led by Directors of Science, Maths, English, Geography, History and PE – we are unashamedly ambitious for all of our students; come and learn how
Curriculum Trailers: A taste of what you can expect in the classroom at Sir Jonathan North.
Site tour, highlighting our key facilities that enhance your child’s education
Holistic Development and Pastoral Opportunities - led by our Assistant Principal for KS3 and Vice Principal, ensuring our young people leave Sir Jonathan North as well-rounded individuals.


Following our virtual event, we’ll provide the opportunity for you to meet and hear from members of the Leadership Team on site in small groups on Thursday 24th September. Sessions will take place at staggered times from 3.15pm until 5.30pm and will be limited to 26 people, with no more than one adult and one child per household.

You must wear a face mask, and adhere to social distancing guidelines. Further guidelines about conduct during these meetings will follow upon booking.
